Recreational product...hmmm...last time I had that sort of thing in a box was in the late 1960's and yes it was a recreational product. Ok, I'm stumped for now.

Well, How about a hint or two:

I would classify it as a recreational device. Others might disagree on that assesment.
It runs on electricity, so does that make it like an appliance ?
It can get hot or cold.  Huh

No Jim, it's not a cooler.

Be aware that you are only seeing a small portion of this item.

Well, let's recap this and add a clue

I would classify it as a recreational device. Others might disagree on that assesment.
It runs on electricity, so does that make it like an appliance ?
It can get hot or cold.
Be aware that you are only seeing a small portion of this item.
This item has been a focal point in many movies and tv shows.

Racort: This one has me personally stumped. Just can't put the pieces together. Any help would be, well, helpful.

OK Tim, another hint:

In most cases you will be sitting when you use this item, it does require some interaction when using it.
I've seen some sweating while using it and others as cool as a cucumber.

Tim, you have that XXX right. When this puppy is finally figured out, I'm either going to want to buy one or be grossed out.  I keep thinking it's like a sweat box but that doesn't fit all the clues. On the other hand it could be some kinda kinky toilet facility. Ok, I'm still lost...

No, it is not anything kinky or XXX rated, nothing toilet related, however you do have to be an adult, at least in the USA to use this, younger people in other countries may be able to use this, I don't know. BCB, you might like to have one of these, if you don't already. They are legal to own here in the US, well, not sure about the left coast though.

Is it a heating / cooling pad? (Something that comes in contact with the body)?

No Tim, not a cooling/heating pad, in order to operate it, you do have to touch it though.

Some people get excited when they operate it and some feel a little depressed after using it.

You probably won't find this in many churches, most would call using this a sin.

No Tim, nothing mystical about this item, although it's unpredictable like a Ouija Board, it's only a machine.  Huh

That clue about getting hot or cold is metaphorical, the item's physical temperature does not change . Huh
