Family Shots

Ok, this is really rare for me as I hardly ever shoot images of people. I got asked to do a series for Christmas as a lot of family was in town. Here are a few examples. JIM

These are very nice Jim. You have nice poses, good lighting, and each one tells a story. What more could you want (ok, so some foggy mountains or lake reflections would be a plus)?
Lookin' good.

I did ask if they would all come with me to the mountains for the shots but no takers. Cheers and thanks Tim. As I said, I do very little people shots. JIM

Well done Jimbo. What flash, flash orientation, and if any, flash diffuser did you use on these shots. The lighting in #1 is spot on.

Flash was the Pentax 540 +.05 compensation and yes I had a flash defuser on. [good call] That image really looks great in full resolution and they now want a print done. Family of coarse pays $0 bucks. The girl is a cousin of my wife and was on Canada Project Runway [Kim]

Thanks for the Youtube link Jimbo. I bet she must have had a great time rubbing elbows with people in her biz. If you feel that you must pepper the site with your family photos I guess we could stand to see a few (hundred) more.....
Once again nicely done.

After seeing your beautiful work I was inspired to try my luck at photographing people. [and this is the truth Spy] I really find people a hugh challenge with shadows, lighting, along with placing the subject correctly, I can definately understand why you mentioned a second pair of hands works well. Of coarse these were just shot in open rooms so really we can call these Snap Shots. Kim has a blast doing it and she gets reconized everywhere she goes as the Bitchy one!! We get a laugh out of that because if is so far from the truth. At least it did not go to her head! Cheers and thank you for commenting. JIM

Missed this one Jimbo well done ! nexgt time you should take them out to the seculed spots you are so adept at finding and shoot on location. People are challenging for sure, most see a DSLR and then assume you are a professional good at eerything from portraits to night photography, you did well.
