Honest criticism is most welcome by me, because I'm always trying to improve. I've worked as a freelancer for decades, and that involves about as much rejection as door-to-door sales. I don't take anything personally, but evaluate everything as objectively as possible. Ego is the biggest enemy to improvement. If you have your hat on crooked, I'll know it.
Some might think it nit-picking. I consider it perfecting. Real quality is measured not in the "big picture," but in minute details. You can run your car through an automatic car wash and it will be clean, but if you have it "detailed" at a reputable shop, the difference is very noticable.
I would be careful, however, about who you criticize. Truth is most can't take it.

True thoughts and I would agree with all of that. Noted on the warning too. Honestly, that's what makes it difficult.

On the topic of criticism always remember that an established fire can take more cold water than one that is at the kindling stage (consider the photographer and his ability and location on the learning curve. - the number of postings he or she has made can be a safe gauge). We are all learning and will continue to do so as long as we are involved with this hobby. We not only learn from our own work but from evaluating and looking at other peoples work.

I like to offer a little sugar with any medicine I dispense (for every hard to swallow advice or opinion I dish out I like to finding and offer a positive and encouraging aspect to maintain a balance) This also trains me to see the positive (the negative is easy to see). We may be a little soft and warm on this site when it comes to calling the play at home plate...... but we have never had a bench clearing brawl.

not yet! One thing I can never figure out is that the Critic always over looks his creation and the more of a Critic he becomes the blinder he oe she his! We are all blessed with one thing with this hobby, the ability to learn and the patience along the journey. Go read "Daring Greatly" by Teddy Roosevelt. Kind of like sex, never bad just some are better! Cheers JIMBO

Once again I say, good thoughts all and I'm in agreement with them.

Both are very nice, Ron!  The quarry shot is my favorite though.
