Here's a couple: one from this evening taken at Crane Lake and one taken yesterday morning at a quarry at Elephant Rocks State Park. DA 15mm Limited, f-11, around 100sec.

Thanks Jimbo. The first actually had a GND over the lens. I've been using High-tech and can see no degredation of IQ from it. They are really tough to use with a 15mm though. Get flairs from the sides a lot because of the flower petal shape of the hood. Trying to devise a special holder/hood type of thing to cure that.

Ok, while Jim likes the first shot, I'm not that wild about it. If the dog's head was not in shadow and the to trucks were not in the image I think the composition would have been much better. Clearly the colors are cool but, I find those two items distracting in the image. I think one could also question whether seeing some portion of the woman's face would have been better than the back of her head. But with the dog focus on the "catch" I think it works just like that (except for the dog being in shadow). $0.02.

I agree with you Tim. It was pretty much a snapshot. Lot of comp problems with first one, especially angler in center.
I like the second shot best myself.

In the second shot - the angler - seems to be soft in the focus. Is it me or what? I love the colors in that shot although the tip of the pole gets lost in the trees in the background. Cool view though.

I thought about filling that shot with flash, but decided the fall foliage in the background was the main focus, so kept myself in shadow. Blew the shot up to 100 percent, and it is a little soft. Motion blurr I suspect.
Please keep this up on all my shots. Just saying a shot looks good doesn't point out things like this that I might miss.

Don't give it another though, Jimbo.
I wouldn't take anything for my DA 15, but I'd trade Betty for a 540 flash. She's getting worn out.

Also reminds me of the Metaloaf song that ends: ...And now I'm praying for the end of time, so I can end my time with you.
Made an entire career from this one hit.

Ron - I'm finding that the hardest thing I do on these forums is provide negative (read that constructive) comments. I endeavor to provide the best comments I can but am usually limited by time and knowledge. I also understand that we learn more from constructive criticism than we do from straight up praise and that praise is easy to give. Still, it's hard for me to just tear into an image because I'm always asking myself 1) how do I know some much, 2) will this person take this the right way, or 3) what would I have done? Anyway, all I can say is that sometimes I see something in an image and I think that it's good to point that out.

Oh, and I'm an old Meatloaf fan too just like a bat outa hell!
