I think we'll see the differences between 2 of them, after they are both tested by users.
For instance, what I remember from old (!) K10d days is that JPEG's from GX-10 was different than K10D's JPEGs. All the rest besides button design were almost same including price.

I would buy the original one, if the other is not worthy cheaper than the other.
(IMO, I would prefere GX, if it were cheaper as much as a Limited or star series lens price)

i will buy GX-20..the reason is, now GX-20 is the original and K20D is a rebadge..beside, specification between this two show that GX-20 is better than K20D..samsung firmware is better than pentax too..that why GX-10 pic is more sharper than K10D..all the new feature are developed by samsung like new 14MP sensor, live view with auto focus, dual dust reduction, AF is operate by brightness etc..GX-20 has 22bit ADC while K20D doesn't have..GX-20 RAW output is 14bit while K20D only 12bit..and exposure bracketing up to 9 frames in GX-20..schneider lens is a good lens
and price i think GX-20 is more cheaper..i think should be $100-$200 more cheaper than K20D

you will only be buying a name by buying a pentax

there is no more real pentax nor never will be

how dumb would it be to buy the same camera with lesser specs just so you can say your being loyal to a company that dosnt exist anymore

the new pentax is no more a pentax camera than the samsung is

my advice is to buy the one thats cheapest

my gx10 is a much better camera than any of my freinds k10d s

the 20d will be the same

im just hoping that samsung owners will be allowed full participation on pentax world
contests etc as the new pentax are samsungs anyhow

No, I will not buy the GX-20.

I think it depends on the country where you are living. Here in Switzerland, the DSLRs of Samsung are nearly totally absent from the market. I did never see any GX-10 in a shop here. I prefer not to think about what to do with a Samsung DSLR which needs to be serviced...

On the other hand, while not every photo equipment shop sells Pentax DSLRs, you can still find quite a few shops having Pentax DSLRs even on stock. I had to send in my camera(s) to Pentax a few times, mostly to get them cleaned after desert tours, I always had a quick, friendly and reliable service.

So, should I buy the new camera, I will go for the K20D.

In line with Dominique's last comment I haven't seen a Samsung DSLR in Canada and as far as I know they are not sold here.

My experience has been that Pentax service here is very good and reasonably quick.

Samsung service is better..instead of warranty they have a after service centre..Last year my samsung pro 815 lcd was broken and i replaced it for free although the warranty expired. Like sammy sung said..i will not buy a pentax name but i'll buy a good product with a good price..why should pay more if there is a better one with cheaper price ?? pentax is just a name..we look for quality not a name..maybe someday there is no more pentax name like happened to minolta..

It's true. The only difference is in our minds!

So, if you like to see the name "Pentax" written on your camera you can get the Pentax model,
if you want to see the name "Samsung" on your camera you can get the Samsung model.

I would prefer the Pentax name, cause I love this company. If I needed a second body then I would get a Samsung one.

Another reason that could make me to get a Samsung model, is to produce a Full Frame body before Pentax Wink Cheesy

samsung rebadge GX-1S from *ist DS2 and GX-1L from *ist DL2
samsung and pentax work together with pentax to build GX-10 and K10D
the new features on GX-20 and K20D was added by samsung and maybe this time K20D rebadge from GX-20
the lens are compatible each other..so no need worry about the lens..
