Interesting. It's another of these kind of pop up flash add on equipment. I have a Lumiquest thing and I've seen others that do this sort of thing. What do I think of it or them? I think when you learn to use them, they work quite well.

Might work. Also check out FlashRight and ColorRight. I bought one of their hotshoe flash diffusers and have been suprisingly happy with it. They also make one for pop-up flashes.

At the risk of further depressing the world economy may I suggest a pop-up flash diffuser that costs nothing and takes about three minutes to make -- including washing out the milk jug. Earn extra points for re-cycling too.

Ya might want to shave/bevel just a tiny tad off the plastic body with an Exacto knife where it joins the metal shoe to make it a little easier to insert from the front. But it also works just fine with a longer tab inserted from the rear of the shoe and bent forward under the flash head.

The larger and farther away from the flash head the frosted surface is the softer the diffuser effect.

Spray paint it white or glue foil to the surface and you have a bounce reflector for the on-camera flash. Although it's pretty weak unless there's a reflective surface very close to the camera it can provide a little bounced shadow fill under optimum conditions.

It's a very unobtrusive accessory that you can carry in your pocket.

Naw, this sort'a thang occurs when the gene pool gets contaminated with the residue from single malt beverages, balin' wire an' 'duck' tape which causes a negative reaction to over-priced gizmos an' boutique solutions.  (Which unfortunately doesn't explain LBA or classic sports cars from the 60's.)

One of the most useful economic valuation formulas I know of is to divide the cost of a gadget by the number of  times it gets used after the first 10-days of ownership. Keep in mind that dividing by zero results in imaginary outcomes!

There's a "ski" at the end of his name.

Nope, just a cheap smack. My ultimate dream is to build a K5 body out'a dog treats, a discarded cellophane wrapper an' two dead AAA batteries.  Stay tuned.   Wink

  • Well if that is not a case of the pot calling the kettle black - Terrytootall you make the cheapest of Scotsmen look wasteful. (one day I will out cheap you)  Wink
  • So T-man.... you said that Pacerr's has a "ski" on the end of his name...... can he play hockey? Huh
  • Pacerr slow down, a camera built out of dog treats would technically be classed as a K9 model. If you could construct it with absolutely nothing you would knock us all out of the park with a K0

K9? I stand corrected, Spy.

However, I'm a little worried about announcing that I might become a "K9-shooter" when I finally succeed. Especially after my recent defense of Corgies.

"Hockey?" Is that how ya define the need to hock a lens for the next six-pack? "That Super Tak's lookin' a l'il hockey today, Dear. Use that one for the beer run, eh?"

I was sort of watching the Blues game the other day while punching the keyboard and was very surprised to hear the announcer mention one of the players as "Kruger." That must have been a mistake. Germans don't let pucks get in the way of their beer.
Famous name: Kruger. Movie hero to the young. I make and sell some jigs I call Flair Hair Jigs, and my slogan is: A Big Fish's Worst Nightmare. You gotta go with what you got.

No David, that just one of my ex-wives. I don't even like to talk about that one.
