I would image so, but I'll bet Yoda wants a red one!

I actually have the same concern as you. I am planning for a white K-x. The black grip is not my preferred color. But such is life
Pentax K-x white camera -- Hin's choice
I wonder if something safe for baby will be safe for the camera. Usually those are non-alcoholic such as baby wipes. Don't hold me accountable as I am nutty in my thoughts tonight. But the white color, however appealing, will have the drawbacks as compared to the darker color.
Someone once mention about dropping the white camera in a snow filled place as in carrying your camera in a ski-lift. The powder snow may save the camera but not the white camera in a white background.
Come to think of it, I need to read up the menu and I hope they provide some nice tips other than my baby wipes idea. I don't know, call me clueless but that is one of my concerns.
Regards,
Hin

Yoda
I am with you on Yoda's choice of green color. I wrote
2 fictional stories in my blog about Yoda
and you will be very confused after the visit. And I get hate comments from Rice High followers, believe it or not.
Warmest,
Hin

I just asked about
Frank in PentaxForums who has made beautiful product shots
on his white K-x and I get this reply

Hi Hin, I haven't seen any words about how to clean the white camera. But seems it's pretty easy to clean 'cause the white surface is gloss. Don't feel it'd scratch easily, but the paint might come off along the way, even a black body would have the same problem.
Quite a few guys have been using the white K-m for over a year, never seen any complaint about the dirt or scratch yet. So I guess it's not a big problem?
And thanks for your kinda comments about the photos. But what I said is true, the camera does look better than those photos
Cheers!
Hope this helps the original poster.

If it helps you any further, I just took the plunge this morning and ordered the white copy from eBay under the seller of BeachCamera with no shiping for $619.00 and I make use of Bing search engine and get the 8% cash back. In order to make use of Bing cash back, you need to login to Bing as a registered user with a search coming from Bing that land on ebay, the purchase entitle you to cash back after 60 days of purchase. Look for the details and ask around.
Don't rush into the purchase, know all the glitches such problems with alkaline batteries, lost of the red dot in focal point, perhaps few others. I will order 8 AA eneloops to go with my white K-x that are known to be safe and good.
Search for "pentax k-x white" in ebay and sort by price and you will see this item from Beach Camera (the same company as BuyDig:
Pentax K-x from Beach Camera
I am a lens junkie and I just got a used copy DA 40mm f/2.8 limited panckae for $249.00 from BHPhoto and I am more than ready for the K-x white. It will be a sweet combo, smudges included. I will try out baby wipes from Costco.
All the best,
Hin

Hin,
What a sweet deal indeed! ! Thanks for pointing this one out. I will do some ebay searches.
Cool lens btw!
I still stand on my assumption that denatured alchol should work fine. No, not dunking the camera body into a pail, but dampen a cloth, and rub the area that needs it. Denatured alcohol is safe on ALL lens material, anti-reflective and polycarbonate included.
Let me know how you like your new camera.

Thank you for the kind words. I have been blown away ever since I got my
Pentax K-x White
. It is a beautiful camera, smudges or not. After 1 month of ownership, I can attest that smudging is no longer a worry in me. In real usage, I don't see that as a concern for me anymore.
And you can see more of my reports:
Pentax K-x White Arrival
Pentax K-x high ISO
Pentax K-x White and DA limited
Thanks,
Hin
