I send my K7 to service to day, I can't get aperture (f number lower then f13) In Av mode. When I try to turn to a greater apeture setting, K7 just jumps up to f22 again from f13, anybody heard about this problem before?

I have read a lot of reviews, articles, forum post, etc. on the K7 but have not heard anything in regards to a problems with setting the aperture. Definately let us know what they indicate was the problem as there are a few K7 owners on the site.

Thanks for sharing this exerience with us,

There is a custom setting, Auto EV Compensation which when on will force override your Av or Tv setting to obtain the correct exposure.  This is useful if for instance you set your shutter speed to 1/2000 to take a photo of a bird in flight, but maybe there isn't enough light, the camera will decrease shutter speed automatically to, say, 1/800.

There is a chance that the camera was set to a high ISO and low shutter speed and with this feature turned on, the camera is overriding aperture to correct exposure and decides on F22?

I have tryed to turn off auto iso, but it did't help, so in my case iso can stay at 800, and I got the same problem, unable to get f number below f13, in most cases, and thats in daylight with snow conditions.

My first move would be to take the battery out and leave it out overnight, and if that doesn't work, try re-loading the firmware. Is it the same with other lenses?

Kristian,

Sorry to hear of your troubles.  This is a very strange condition, and something I've never had a problem with.  Keep us informed of the outcome.

Got an sms from the workshop today, it was a failure on the adjustment wheel for the aperture settings. So my K7 is on it's way back to me now.
