Hi All,

I have a K7 since a few days and it strangely starts to re-auto focus on its own without touching the shutter release button (in AF.S mode and in all exposure dial modes).

This is what happens I focus on a object while pressing the shutter release button half way (without taking a picture), then when take my finger of the shutter release and  move the camera away from the object, the K7 start re-auto focuses for a few seconds and than holds a random focus point (also for a few seconds).

I have this problem with the K7 and DA*55 combination.

Any of you have an idea if I have a setting wrong? Or is this a malfunction in the electronics or is it a new feature from Pentax?

Greetings,
Dan

Is your thumb is accidentally pressing the AF button?
otherwise:
You can eliminate the possibility of it being a 'wrong setting' by trying in Green Mode.

If it's still happening in Green Mode, I'd go back to the shop!   Cry

I think the shutter button got stuck somehow, but what do you know, after gentle push to the side of the button the problem is fixed, maybe it was something with the weather-sealing.
Anyway it’s fixed and all working perfectly now.
