Has the sensor overheated? Have you tried powering down the camera and letting it cool down?
I remember reading an article last year where an owner was using the Live View feature, on a warm / hot day, and the sensor overheated and caused some odd visual issues. (I believe it was hot pixels - but I could be wrong)

Turn the camera off for an hour to ensure that it is not a heating issue. Then try taking a picture without Live View and check the results. If all appear fine, try a second test shot using Live View.

Hope everything works out for you. Let us know what you determine

looks like a processing error or sensor fault. Is it on every photo?

Try using "Pixel Mapping" in the setup menu.  A dead pixel may be the cause.
If that fails, then I think you have no choice but to take it to a service center.

I was thinking the same thing, but JD's problem is with the K20D.  I was going to ask if this happened after much use of Live View, but JD said it's happening even on the first shots of the day.  Huh  It will be interesting to see if the problems are related.

JD, sorry to hear of your trouble.  I hope you find a solution to the problem.

Oops, you are correct. K-7 versus k-20. I'll have to search so more.

It's pretty much got to be a sensor or processor fault.

Good luck with the warranty.
