If Pentax wishes to survive this rat race, they should be very nice to the new customers who paid 1000 euro for something that is still not regarded as a pro but more like a very expensive hobby DSLR. Because these new customers are essential for the future of Pentax as a brand.

I agree. This is the essence of my point. I don't think Pentax reads any of this, though.

Larry, I do think they read it. At least they did read the dpreview forum. They knew about TC's blog (which started as a result of a long post on dpreview), and there was more or less a hot wire with Pentax USA and Gordon. Pentax USA also admitted the vertical noise pattern issue and told Alex in december that in january a firmware update would fix it.
So things did get through, but some things simply haven't been adressed yet. Like the auto iso won't go down in P mode. And the raw+jpg bug. But they did listen to the users who wanted a fast ISO check. But WB is till hidden deep down, and it's very important if you shoot jpeg. Angry
If we want to get Pentax to listen, we should try to get the users to test their camera on possibly problems. A standard way of testing for each possible problem, and listing of users with problems would be a good start. Second, if anyone has 'the problem' , they should send it in for a fix. That will make Pentax listen >D.

I do believe that Pentax do care and listen to their customers...as the K10D is still quite new in the market, perhaps we should be a little bit more patient Smiley
