Well, I got my SD cards yesterday, fully charged the battery, did the firmware upgrade, and finally got time to try out my new K-r and both lenses (18-55mm & 55-300mm) at home. I'm still amazed how much faster this camera is than my old bridge-cam and how much better it is in low light.

I played around with the different modes and settings and found the menus to be fairly intuitive. I think the learning curve on the camera may not be as long as I'd estimated. I think I'll print out the manual and just work my way through it with the camera. That, along with some better instruction on photography in general, should get me going pretty quickly. I'm very pleased with my purchase....now on to the accessories! BBJ
