We all know that Ricoh purchased Pentax. I received an email from Pentax last week suggesting they had a new look. I clicked on the link to go check it out. I was surprised and delighted to see some familiar items return to the fold. Teleconverters, thread to K mount adapters, 645 to K mount adapters, etc.  I feel comforted that they appear to place some value in past products and adaptability. I also like that they are proudly linking their name to the Pentax brand name instead of hiding in the background as a distant investment only parent company.

In 2012 Pentax dealers will also have access to Ricoh cameras - if they want. They will have to fill out another dealer agreement.
thanks

I was expecting some new lenses for the K5 but I guess that too much to ask for, Oh well I need Pentax lenses and not 3rd. party I read that Sigma has gone down hill on some of theirs.  I think we could use more fast wide pancake lenses. I need more primes along with more people here and allover the net. Show us the new ones Mr. Pentax.

I've seen a rumor of several more lenses recently too. Honestly the rumor mill is just getting started. Stay tuned.

Damn, I love rumors.  So long as I don't make any commitments based on 'em they're SOOO entertaining -- almost as good as a subscription to a photo magazine. Passes the time, eh?

I read 'em to my Spotty, K1000, P3's an' MX, the Super Tak's, M's, A's an' Adaptalls an' we all have a good laugh -- and place bets as to whether they'll take over the world in my lifetime -- or not.

(Oh, did I mention earlier I was hoping at least one of my four K200D's an' a *istDS last another ten years? I expect the lenses will survive regardless of the problems. )

Yep,  the glass is more important than the bodies in this day and age (even for MF); I guess it always was if I think about it.  I wonder where the roadmap of 645D lenses begins (or ends) with Ricoh?  The important thing is that I have all the lenses I need to shoot images now, and the only images that count are the ones you shoot now.  Wink

I agree, Shaun. The way I always put it is: the body gets you there, but it is the eye (lens) that sees.
An emphasis upon good glass at reasonable prices is one of the reasons I switched to Pentax. Unfortunately, the majority of the market concentrates upon the superficial aspects of bell and whistles, high ISO and more MPs.
