Hi

I wanted to give a first try at macro with the FA645 120/4 which arrived yesterday. As the light was already pretty low, it was the opportunity to check out the AF160C macro flash on the 645D as well. The light was a bit too harsh, but it allows to show the details this lens is able to render.

It makes me want to be in spring...

Even with some diffraction at those big f-numbers, that's impressive detail. Can you dial back the flash output and drop the f-stop number a bit?

Thanks for commenting.

David: the flash is too harsh in my opinion, but this is normal with flash on this distance. The 645D handles the flash pretty well.

Ron: yes, the macro ring flash allows changing the power of the flash between -1 EV and + 0.5 EV. As for the f-stop, the lens allows to close the aperture down to f/32.
