Most of the wild flowers I shoot are tiny, but I finally ran across these Day Lilies along the Current River and used the 15mm like Dominique showed me.

As strange as it sounds, using an ultra wide angle such as the DA15 for flower closeups, but it does really work well!

Very nice shot Ron, detailed shot, great colors and showing not only the large flower but also the surrounding, well done!

T-man,

Way to explore the power of the 15mm and its ability to serve up subjects larger than life.

Thanks Spy. The many things the 15mm can do still amaze me. They sprinkle each one with magic dust before it leaves the factory.
I'm convinced it is the CCD over the CMOS, Jimbo. This is the "look" that attracted me to Pentax in the first place. I have a K20D I'll sell or trade with you.
Thanks Mike.

I have a K20 Ronny and will keep it for awhile as a back up. Will be selling a few lenses soon though. [18-250, 50 1.8, 12-24, Tamron 90 Macro, will be sold soon] Keeping the 16-50 2.8 Pentax as the kit lens. Cheers JIM

Wow, Jimbo. From the pics I've seen from you, I'm surprised you're selling the 12-24, but since you now have a D3, I think I realize why.
I'm strictly a prime guy, but that 12-24 is an exceptional zoom.

Love all those shots, Ron.  That lens seems to have everything,  Very vivid color, clarity  and bokeh.  Nice going,   Freddy

Well, those short zooms can really be nice.   I love my 16-45 F4.   Took great floral shots with it, and of course it's a neat wide angle.
I would also like to get back to my Takumar SMC 55.  I was delighted with the shots I got from that baby.  Really sharp and contrasty.  Freddy
