For different reasons #2 & 6 are just amazing to me. I like the way #2 looks like it's moving and the lighting in #6 is stellar. Nicely done.

Thank you. As I reviewed #2 on camera's screen, my first thought was to delete it because it looked terribly underexposed and that I can simply retake it. But at a closer look, it had this effect of lighting just the contours, I had to give it a try to what it might look like on a proper large screen.

This is why photographing is important, I can never see this scene even though I visited there.. nice shot.

After a storm is one of my favorite times to shoot, and I, too, love the composition and lighting of #2.

Indeed, a good rain over the day has the advantage to clear the air, you just have to hope for some sunshine just after the rain.

Here a few photos pretty much from the same location:

General comment about these and other images from your local area:

I have to say that I always enjoy your images from Vevey. What a wonderful subject to have right at your doorstep. I don't know how hard you work at shooting locally but you always get something interesting and different to share here, not to mention that your images always have an amazing eye-popping look. So if you ever feel like not posting some of these here because you may think we are tiring of these, my comment is, I'm not nor do I think I will ever tire of these splendid views. Someday I will tour your country and you've put your home high on my list of places to see.

Thank you Tim.

My problem is that I have probably taken thousands of photos of the lake from Vevey and sometimes feel a bit sorry when posting photos of the same place ever and ever again. But then, the lake offers unlimited possibilities, changing seasons, changing light and a full playground to experiment with as well when taking the photos as when processing them. Glad I know that not all are bored from these posts.

Hey Dominique I echo Tim's sentiments but maybe we should limit your Vevey posts to 500+ per month  Grin

Dom, let me explain it this way. Last week I posted this shot on my flickr site.

_IGP7187_88_89_90_91 by blackcloudbrew, on Flickr

The old wrecked boat in the image has been shot most likely millions of times by thousands of people over the many years it's been sitting there in Pt. Reyes National Seashore. Until last weekend I had avoided taking a picture of it as it really is a cliche image if you know the area at all. But just for fun I shot it, my way. I remarked on my flickr site that it was so over done. I was surprise when several people looked in and remarked ... they'd never seen it before and like it. To my surprise I realized that while my surrounding are was so familiar to me, they aren't to many many other people, so, I'll post and let others be the judge. That's why we like your Vevey shots, we aren't familiar with it...interesting.
