I mentioned I would post a few images. Here are three form this morning. Still playing around with what this D700 can do. These were taken with my new wide angle, Nikon 16-35. One of the sharpest lenses I own. Cheers JIMBO

One more. On this one I re-set the WB in the field. Surprising how much it changes the image. I know you can also do this in processing, when shooting in raw but always good to check in the field too. Cheers JIMBO

Colours in all look over-saturated on my monitor. Are these straight out of the camera or after PP ?

Don't look oversaturated to me. Good to see your enchanted forest shots again.

I try to never boost the saturation on my images. I will tend to over expose slightly and then work the light back in certain areas. I try to keep as close to what I saw when I shot the images. JIM

Jim, I do enjoy how you can take a few rocks and a bit of water and turn them in to art. I like your first image the best as the distant hint of flow in it is an interesting feature. Well done. The road and trees is another excellent shot.

Being from the same neck of the woods as you Jimbo I can believe that you did not increase saturation on these shots. That being said, I normally decease saturation for these type of shots in Photoshop to make the "as witnessed real life" condition more believable. The lower positioned sun tends to boost the tones a bit. (plus being in a West Coast rain forest everything has a coating of green - moss, algae, ferns, etc) that makes shots look like the WB is off.  The gray of the lower rocks would suggest that WB was bang on.

I enjoyed the series.  The only suggestion I would make is on the 4th / last shot. The lamp pole needs a little perspective correction.

Thanks for sharing your work with us Jimbo. Nice to see you again. (shake Daacons tree for us if you get a chance)

I usually do drop the saturation on shots like this. I will boost the contrast and then drop the Saturation.  I see what you mean on the lamp post. Shot with a wide angle pointing up.  Great shot for a shift len. Easy to change in Photo Shop. JIM
