This is the best I can get out of it, David, and even here the horizon is a little soft. For anything else, however, the 35mm is stellar.

Well, it is pretty good, David, but other lenses are better when you want everything from your feet to infinity in focus.
And yes, this is one of the rivers where I guide smallmouth fishermen. It's also one of the clearest fresh water rivers in the nation and where I do most of my underwater photography.

i like how the blue deepens in color though as you look farther down the river,   in this shot.      dave
