2011 was the 100th anniversary of the "Big Valley Roundhouse" here in Alberta.  Surprisingly, I had the place all to myself when I shot these images (imagine that!!).

The past, in particular the technological past tends to be quickly forgotten and thrown away hereabouts.  So these images are my way of remembering where we came from.  In Western Canada, our society came about due to the influence and westward progress of the railroads; quod erat demonstrandum.

This is all P645D work.

These are all pretty cool shots but I really think you need to bring out the shadows a little more to at least give them some texture / form.

Wouldn't change a chnage on how these were shot or processed. Really like the last one and it should go to print. JIM

Thanks for the feedback and comments, everyone.

I have printed the B&W image at 24"x 36" on Harman Baryta and it hangs on my wall.  It is a reminder of why we do photography.

Mike,

Good eye.  In fact I centered my tripod and sensor plane right over the turntable center of rotation, so I am standing in the exact center of the turntable pit.

Thanks,

Shaun
