well,  ron,  i've looked at this image a few times now,  and like it better each time,   can you explain a little about your thinking on this photo,  because this looks very thought-out;   i like - how you have the light from the water reflecting up ,  for one.  dave

Thanks everyone. It is my contention, David, that snapshots are taken, but photographs are planned. Big bass like this are not easy to come by, so when I caught this one, I went to the trouble to plan a few shots, using my 15mm lens, a tripod and 12-sec. delay.

Nice image and worthy winner! But... if I'm not mistaken here, then the camera is at about the same level than the fisherman's ... erm... eyes  :o
Wouldn't you call that eye-level?  ::)

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

On the plus side you got yourself a fancy model and, although it definitely is a fish-eye image (i.e. it has a fish eye in it) the perspective corrections were carried out with utmost precision.

A worthy winner.  That double-dipper deserves extra points - not only shot FROM bended knee level, but OF a kneeling subject too.

Not to mention the poised ballerina-like grace and situational drama . . .    ;D   Will the guy capture and live happily ever after with the  . . . em, SMB?  Will 'e fall into the cold water?  Will 'e be arrested later for wearin'  that hat in public?

I'd note that one of Ron's acquired skills is the ability to compose the shot without being behind the camera and to simultaneously be an effective model in front of it.

H2  -  I'm not gettin' any smarter in my old age -- I'm just finally beginnin' to run out of really stupid things to do. Doesn't mean I'm not tryin' though.
