Run a web search on the phrase "photo digital zone system".

E.g., A simplified zone system - Norman Koren photography @

did the re-set,   and the rest of it,      shutter seems ok,   but still no exposure meter reading when i manual focus in M mode,  on the dial,   MF selected on the lower body,  and  center metering ,   shouldn't that +/- area show the bars to over or underexposure when i turn the e- dial for shutter speed?    it's just blank,   so somethings going on,   all the menu items re-set except i put the accept manual lenses custom to 2.     strange ?  kinda scary.    dave

maybe it's the smc lens the k 30,  there are no contacts on the lens,    i'll try an A lens.    for the +/- meter ,  maybe ?     i'll be back.

yes,    an A lens set to A , and everything else set to manual,  creates the exposure meter again -- guess i have just been using the k lenses for a while now,   ( interesting that the A lens not set to A , disables the exposure meter once again  )      so out of panic mode for that ,  sorry about that,      but not so sure about this multiple shutter firing thing.   got me worried,   not doing it right now,  but what if it comes back....       thanks,
dave

not set for bracketed exposures ,   at least hadn't set it for that, i  had been taking single photos,   then suddenly it just kept flipping the mirror on  it's own when i pressed the shutter for a single shot ,  it kinda went crazy.   seems ok now after the reset,  but i'm worried now.    but thanks for thinking of that,   calum.
