I recently came across a very old photograph of my grandfather circa 1922, it was in a very poor condition..full of creases etc, so with the help of photoshop CS i restored it to near enough new condition.
I used the clone tool to get rid of the creases, levels to lighten the image contrast to give it a bit of punch, all followed by a slight sharpen and finished with a new border, time taken 3 hours. The original was about 6″ × 4″.

Wow, that's mighty fine photo restoring. Well done. So, how about some background on the shot and your grandfather.

Hi Blackcloudbrew
I cannot really tell you a lot about the shot other than my Grandfather was a amateur boxer when he was a young man, he won various local cups and armed forces cups during his service days, he was in the lightest class (cannot remember class name) but it is said that he did like to partake in a bit of bare knuckle boxing at the local fairground, unfortunately he died young before i was born so all i have is hearsay from my dad and other family members, the photograph was mostly taken in a studio after one of his wins,it seems he was a colourful character in his day,  sorry i cannot fill you in more.

That would be flyweight or below 112 pounds.
The weight categories in boxing look pretty low by today's standards, due to today's diet of hamburgers and coca cola, so much so that's it's now hard to believe that men were once often less than 50 kg or that a heavyweight boxer someone that's more than 175 pounds or 80 kg.
I know Labradors that weigh more than Mike Tyson did when he first became heavy weight champion of the world.
