(sorry for my bad English)..
hi all,
this kinda a words from a girl friend of mine studying in UK...makes me worry sometimes...

while my girlfriend (gf) waiting for a bus at a bus stand with her friends somewhere in UK...a couple came by ..and said "f*ck you Islam.." to her friends (they wearing jilbab/covered head)..then the couple ask my gf " are u with them? f*ck you" (my gf didnt wear jilbab but she islam too)..

afterwards... her friends talking each other about their commitments programs in their university.. they talk in Malay language .. nearby there wre an uncle speak out "speak F*cking English" ... they just ignored him cause they know the uncle was drunk in that moment... later the uncle  said again " i said, speak f*cking English" ..an indian friend speak out that they have the rights to speak in any language.. yet the uncle reply "u're in my country so u have to speak fucking english"... what else the girls could do just ignore him and stay quite.

sometimes makes me wonder.. if teenagers of youngster.. maybe some of them couldnt think wisely and become a rasict person... but to old or mature person... why would this still happens?

we, islam or muslim, not a terrorist religion, i know all or some of  the one sided mass media and propaganda did makes out that muslim were considered as a terrorist (religion). please don't judge us (rest of muslims), a same as those few group of terrorist. What i can see...those terrorist just using the name of religion (islam) to do their bad things... they just did the wrong way... their way.. not Islam... they just manipulate the religious thing for their own.
any religions never allow us to do any harm to others... even there are a lots of people from those religions did a real bad things too..
because,
in this world, there are just two kind of people... the one who done the good thing.. and the one who done the good thing...

sorry for this out-of-topic stuff
no offence k~~  Grin ..peace for all.. peace for the world

regards..

Ouch, that's just wrong and awful too. I don't know what the mood is in the UK but here in places in my country, since 9/11 and frankly before that, such behaviors could and probably do happen, although it's more likely to happen to people speaking Spanish and regardless of where they are from, assumed - by the same stupid people - to be Mexicans. Racism is wrong and whether stemming from fear, ignorance, or just irrational hatred, it's still wrong. While it's not very comforting to know it's still true that racism exists in nations across the world based on the simple principle that if you don't look like me, speak like me, act like me you must be strange and an outsider. Tolerance and acceptance of such differences must be learned and is - in my view - a part of an intelligent civilization. In a number of western countries like mine, Muslims are the current flavor to fear or hate by some. I've lived for extended periods in two countries Egypt and Indonesia where Islam is the principal religion and I have a deep respect for those who practice it. I can't understand why some of my country men have an irrational hatred of something that if they really understood would be ashamed of their ignorant behavior.

Again, I can't speak for the conditions in the UK but this ugly incident could have easily have happened in parts of my country too.

The people who made those ignorant comments need to travel and live in other countries to have a more worldly outlook.

Racism of any kind is ignorant, and sometimes evil. Sometimes it's even stupid and hypocritical. If you travel the rural roads around where I live, you'll still occasionally pass a place that flies a confederate flag. I know one of these guys, and he has a hatred of black people that is amazing, even though when I asked him if he ever knew a black person, he said "no, and I never will." The irony and the hypocracy, is that every place where I've seen a confederate flag has been a shack surrounded by junk and filth. A ghetto would be a step up for them. They're always poachers, often theives and dope dealers.
Having said all that, I've studied all the major religions of the world, and the Koran has more passages that can be used/twisted to fit a violent dominance. But the Old Testament comes in second. It comes down to what you believe is what you are. Being a member of any particular club doesn't chage that, and I think my signature says it all.

I believe there are 3 types of people not just 2. Those that do good, those that do bad, and the worst of the lot are the ones that do nothing.

For what it is worth, my theory regarding racism is that it stems from the basic human instinct to fear the unknown. Humans like to be able to identify and categorize everything in their life. If something doesn’t fit into the tidy little boxes they have constructed, or a label can’t be applied they struggle to come to terms. Some will attempt to modify the unknown, break it down so that they can make it fit (forcing someone to speak their language or pressuring them to alter their appearance are examples of this). Humans do process the ability to rationalize and over come their fears, but often relay on experiences to do so. If they do not have any positive experiences this becomes difficult.

Projection is another problem. This is when negative stereotypes or false characterizations are placed on others to belittle or demonize them to justify or define ones own standing or situation.

Throughout the ages this fear has been a tool used by leaders and people with alterrior motives, play on the fear of the unknown to motivate and enrage. I personally believe if we as humans can remove the cloud of mystery concerning culture, customs and religion, we can defeat and overcome prejudice and racism.  I feel it should start with children, in schools, and at home.

It is unfortunate that your wife and her friends had to experience a racist and negative scene. I hope they realize that it is the inability to use intelligence and ignorance by the offender that created the scene. They are the element that must change. The world is changing very fast. The bigots and racists will be left behind just like the dinosaurs who were incapable of adapting to their environment. Multi-culturism is simply adding new strands to the fabric of society, making it more colourful, stronger and more flexible. It is the mass majority who do nothing and allow racist behaviour and trends to occur around them that are part of the problem, and the key to the solution.

Stay positive, turn the other cheek, lead by example, and be the best representation of who you are.

Crash is a 2005 American drama film co-written, produced, and directed by Paul Haggis. The film is about racial and social tensions in Los Angeles, California. A self-described "passion piece" for Haggis, Crash was inspired by a real life incident in which his Porsche was carjacked outside a video store on Wilshire Boulevard in 1991.[1] It won three Oscars: Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing in 2005 at the 78th Academy Awards.

Several characters' stories interweave during two days in Los Angeles; a black LAPD detective estranged from his mother, his criminal younger brother and gang associate, the white District Attorney and his irritated and pampered wife, a racist white police officer who disgusts his more idealistic younger partner, an African American Hollywood director and his wife who must deal with the officer, a Persian-immigrant father who is wary of others, and a Hispanic locksmith and his young daughter.
