I am thinking about getting a set of the Chinese made & cheap Yongnuo RF 602 wireless flash trigger setup & maybe a Yongnuo YN 560 external flash. They sound good and are pretty cheap and work pretty well. They are not made for Pentax but both the Canon & Nikon versions will work on Pentax but with a few minor issues that can be overcome. For someone like me, just trying to start out and learn a bit about shooting portraits I think they will be a good addition. Will also look into getting some light stands and umbrellas for better lighting.
Hopefully all goes to plan and I can get them in the next month or 2.

Yeah, there the ones, but won't be getting them from Dealextreme. Will get them from the official Ebay seller and get the kit with 3 receivers  instead of just one. Will hopefully order them early next month and hopefully get them not long after if all goes to plan.

I received the trigger & receivers yesterday, only took a week to get them from Hong Kong to a country town in Australia, pretty good I think. They work well & are very easy to set up & use, they look and feel reasonably well built considering how cheap they are. I got the version for the Canon 400-450-500D because they come with the shutter cable that has the same input plug that plugs into the Pentax camera body. I can shoot no problems at up to 1/125 seconds and then have to hold the button on the transmitter down while taking a shot at 1/160 & 1/180 seconds so there is no shutter curtain shadow in the bottom half of the frame. I new this was a small problem with this RF 602 setup but its no real problem to me & if I want I could just tape the button down so it doesn't need to be held.
Just waiting for the flash stand, flash mount and umbrellas to turn up now, should be next week hopefully.
I had never used Ebay before and was a bit hesitant about buying online but looked around for top rated sellers with good feedback so there would be less of a chance of having any problems. Starting to like Ebay now and think I will be using it a bit more in the future.

Ozzi-Paul you have found the slippery slope (Ebay). Ebay sure does bring a world of product, both new and used, to our doors. I have met some good people on Ebay.
A few stands c/w flash/umbrella holders, a couple of umbrellas, and you will have a very portable light kit. Look forward to seeing your work.

Yeah, plenty of things to see & buy on Ebay, thats for sure. I purchased the flash stand separately from the umbrellas and flash/umbrella mount because they didn't come with the stand I wanted. I ordered a 2.6 meter stand on its own from 1 place & ordered a flash/umbrella mount & a white shoot through & a silver reflective umbrella from another place. I only have the 1 flash at the moment (Metz 48) but have access to a little Canon 220ex that should be right to use with the RF 602's, as long as the voltage on the flash is 6 volts or lower it will be right. Its safe to use with digital cameras so should be right to use with the trigger/receivers. Will check first though. I will get another flash stand, flash mount & umbrella and will also get another flash or 2, they will be the Yongnuo YH 560's. Later on I will get a backdrop setup as well.
I have a shoot already set up to do once I get a bit more stuff so that will be interesting, but won't be happening for a little while yet. A friend needs some modeling shots of her daughter to send to an agency or something so I have a bit of learning to do before that.
