I have a Toshiba laptop with 17"wide and CALIBRATED with Colorvision and a:

-P4 HT at 3,2mhz
-HD 80Gb itīs ok for me because i normaly backup my fotos in DVD`s
-only 512Mb (in future 2Gb) but i can work very fast even with +-300Gb fotos scaned from 120/220 film with a Epson 4870
