New firmware for K10D allow to use internal flash as controller for wireless flash setup - super cool IMHO, kudo to Pentax
I trust it will work with 360 or 540, but I have Sigma  Grin
Anyone make it works with this flash?

Cheers

I have the DG 500 Super and it will fire wirelessly sometimes but the sync is out. I plan to get a FGZ360 to use as a flash commander, apparently they work fine to sync the DG500 Super off camera. Now if I can just get a good deal from the PentaxWorld shop so I can try it.

Cheers.

Sounds kinda strange to me. If 360 can be used as commander why then internal flash can not? Anyway I am planing to rechip my 500 and give it a try.
BTW why not use another 500 as commander? Cheaper and guaranteed to work.

My 500 is already re-chipped and works fine on camera just not wirelessly. FGZ360 will work from onboard and is also cheap and guaranteed to work. Also I would like to try the FGZ360 anyway.

Cheers.

An update. I have "rechipped" my 500 DG Super. Was waiting for more then 2 weeks (such a service!!!!!) and BTW they manage to break "Light" button. "Rechipped" seems works OK on camera, but out of sync as wireless. I have talk to them and only what I figured out that they just a bunch of complete idiots who understand nothing what they doing! BH! And this is "Distributor of the year!" (I am in Australia and talking about CRKenedy) Manager said that 500 DG Super does not work as wireless and as proof gave me print out from Sigma website. Such a resourceful MF!!! I would expect from such a distributor (mind you they Pentax distributor as well!!) to have a little bit more resources and knowledge than me. Anyway I am just letting steam out. Thanks a lot for listening. And lesson been learnt - NO MORE SIGMA FLASHES!!!

I think for the peace of mind and total satisfaction and complete compatibility, buying original Pentax flash and Pentax lenses are always the best!

Firstly Pentax flash cost MUCH more here because CRKenedy push Sigma stuff much more aggressively. But more important when I was on market for flash Pentax has no offer for me at all - 360 not good because no swivel and 540 was unavailable yet. Anyway.....

When I bought my DG 500 Super I was not able to use wireless with my DS anyway so the fact that it does not work wirelessly from the onboard flash does not worry me, I have ordered a FGZ-360 to use as a commander and I think this will be a good setup. From what I have read it should work really well. I would have bought another DG 500 Super for about the same price but decided that I would like to try the Pentax flash and the 540 was just a little pricey.

Cheers.

3rd party lenses can be quite good and in many cases better than pentax glass (if comparing to the low end pentax lenses).

...Pentax is not Cannon though.

I think what KK meant was that Sigma and Tamron are having problems with Canon as well and not just Pentax
