I found these screen protectors online:
http://www.acmaxx.net/pentax.html

They appear nice and are available for the complete line of Pentax dSLRs.
Does anyone have any experience with these?  Smiley

I never have found a need and I am pretty rough with my K20D and other cameras......I don't really ever intend to keep a camera more than a couple of years, and don't find the LCD all that useful anyhow.....As long as I can get some idea of what I got, that is good enough...because that is all you ever get anyhow, the LCD is not a great indicator of what you will see when you download...anyhow, that has been my experience?

Just post a couple of squirrel pictures. It'll distract him.

Calsan....... the way I remember that joke was

Q: "what is the difference between a dirty stinking slimy rat and a politician?"

A : "a suit"

Sorry, couldn't resist - LOL

Calsan thanks for offering up screen saving options. Sometimes an ounce of prevention goes a long way.

You guys Stop picking on my Squirrels! They are head and shoulders above any politician, and you guys know it! They are not rats....rats eat garbage, and my $100 a month feed bill is for gourmet Squirrel feed.......select corn, sunflower seed, roasted peanuts, pecans, fresh apple slices......heck, they eat better than I do, and certainly better than a lowly rat!

He's keeping an eye on you guys.....

Loved the Squirrel shots! Got any more?
Best Regards!

Nope, no more squirrel shots for me. This is more of what I like to shoot in the animal realm.

That is a bat ray and a leopard shark (neither of them bite) in shallow water just off kayak last Sunday afternoon. I took that with my OptioW80 and managed to leave a bit of water on the lens. I'd been trying to get an underwater movie of them. I got a movie but it was of the underside of my boat...

Calum,

Thanks for the information - I've never had much look with screen protectors, on PDA, Phones, etc. as they are always coming off or degrading the image but never tried one on a camera  Undecided

In UK we had the Red originaly which was almost completely driven out by the arival of the grey and now the black is threatening both. Personaly I welcome them all.

Calsan - Just picked up on this thread.

Sorry I have no experience of the acmaxx protector but I've just installed one made by FOLIX on my new GX-20. I bought this thro' Amazon and was sold by http://www.Schutzfolien-Center.de at £3.14 inc. post.
It's well cut for the camera and also includes a protector for the top LCD, a small cleaning cloth and a plastic flatener. Although a German product, it has clear instructions in English. The only comment I would make is that it is possible to catch a finger nail under an edge of the plastic. Perhaps that was down to me.

On Rupert's comments about being rough with his camera and selling it on after a couple of years, I think it's even more important to protect both screens.

I put an order in for these yesterday.  Will let you know how they perform.

I'm pretty fed up with the peel off type, so this forced my hand.  I had salt water on my camera on the weekend (shooting dolphins) and the little sticker screen protectors came right off as the drying salt water crystallised beneath it, forcing the stickers right off.  That and the fact that the stickers don't protect against impact damage...
