I am new to DSLR. This is probably a real amateur’s question, but I assume I should have some type of screen protector for a k10d. I ordered an “ACMAXX 2.5”LCD SCREEN ARMOR PROTECTOR FOR Pentax K10D” off eBay.

Don’t want to mess up the camera. Sound OK?

It sounds ok, but I have tried out several brands and have never been satisfied. They make the screen more or less difficult to see under bright sunlight and impacts on sharpness and color rendition of the LCD.

So I removed the lcd protector (and I never had any scratch on *istD, K100D or K10D).

This is what I am using:

Made in Japan and it is the BEST screen protector film that I have ever seen!

    * Ultra clarity without affecting the brightness or colours of your original LCD screen.
    * None-sticky type leaves no residual or damage/dirt to your LCD screen after removing.
    * Self-adhersive nature of the film that will stay firmly on the surface of your LCD. Will not drop or peel off accidently.
    * Specially made LARGE 112mm x 76mm (4.45" x 3.00") size that will fit the LCD of any digital camera or portable storage device. User can cut the film into various pieces for backup or many other devices. Will fit Epson P-2000, P-4000 & P-4500 screen with spacious left over!

I use it on my DOPOD smart phone as well and there is NO VISIBLE image degrading! Made in Japan and it is really good

This is the comparison with and without the film on Epson P-2000 screen (I put the film half on the screen):

Thanks all. The Internet is great. It’s so nice that others share knowledge and take time to offer advice even on a small matter like this one. If what I’ve ordered can easily be put on and taken off, and it sounds like that’s the case, I will give the protector a try. Thanks much for the suggestions, and illustrations!
