I think that the best solution is to send the pair of your equipment to them, as the repair will be for free, because of the warranty. 
If you had to pay for the repair then I would introduce you to find a decent photography equipment service center to find a solution.
Good luck and tell them that you need your camera, and if they could send you another body to do your job until they send you your body!

In my past experience with the AF540FGZ, I didn't encounter the pin being stuck, but rather finding it a little hard to install the flash on the K10D. Maybe the plastic piece (on the hotshoe) is a little too thick for the metal holder on the K10D.

Same problem, now I have scratches on my camera's hotshoe caused by metal pins of FGZ 540.
