Nikon BR-3 Bayonet Mount Adapter Ring Alike for K-mount?
«

I do macro occasionally for fun, with a reversely mounted smc P-A 50mm F2.0. The method did the job, my only problem is that the lens base is expose in air.
I came across that Nikon has a BR-3 for its lens, which allows the use of 52mm filter on the reversed lens.
Does the Pentax equivalent exists? Or I just have to make one myself?
Thanks in advanced.

I use reversing rings from time to time. Here is a trick for you..... take the thread on protective mount end cap, make a hole in it, and put it on to protect the exposed portion of the lens. It also serves as a mini hood to stop flare)

LOL! I never thought of making a hole on the rear lens cap.
Thanks for the idea. I will go to find an after market one. I am just not able to frankenstein the original one.

I like your style Ykee (I too like to preserve original and keep things in tact). It should not be hard for you to find a few after market ones kicking around. When you go to make the hole try a Dremel with a metal hight speed cutting / boring tip. The plastic used on the older caps was almost a bakealite product. Drilling can crack them, abrasive works better, but the raspy metal boring / high speed cutters seem to excel.

Good luck!

Spyglass. I made it!
You are right on the rear lens cap material, even after market caps rigid like rock. High speed drill cutter does the job.
Will post the making later. Cheers and thanks again for the tips.

Alright Ykee
I'm glad I could help. Looks like you did a great job. The best thing about forums is that they collectiviely contain a lot of knowledge, experience, & DIY projects. I look forward to seeing your macro work with the reversed lens.
