I bought a pair of eye cups from e-bay that I have enjoyed using on my k20d and k10d. They slip on and fit ok, but are just a tad loose for what I'd really like. Today the rubber just peeled off the frame and I'll have to see if I can glue it back on. They are olympus om-1 eye cups, but I can't find any more on ebay. It seems there must be another brand that will fit on the k10d & k20d. I hope someone here can point me to one they like or know about. I really dislike the stock eye-cup on both the k10d and k20d, I prefer a cup that my eye can fit into and block the light out of the viewfinder. Anyone have any ideas?

LaRee,  Take a look at this one.  I really like mine for manual focus and macro subjects.

Maybe a bit more than some want to spend.  It protrudes from the camera very nicely and may provide the light block you mentioned.  Much better than the stock cup!

I second Craig.

Since getting this I have no problem reading the tiny green text at the bottom of the viewfinder.  I "ummm-ed and ahhh-ed" about getting one for a while as it seemed fairly expensive.  The moment I put it on the camera, I knew I couldn't go without.  Big difference in my photos since getting it.  No more surprise out-of-focus shots.  [or nose prints on the display...  Tongue]

I saw on Craigslist this morning that a guy is selling the Pentax version ($40 CDN). I checked B&H Photo ($34 US) - temporarily out of stock. This might be a great device for macro work, or where precise focusing is required. (may even help members that wear eyeglasses)

I have this already and at the moment, since I don't have another of the cup I was using, I have this one on the k10d. There are a couple things I don't like about it. I don't like the fact that it changes the edges of the frame from what is actually taken, to a bit less. I don't know exactly where the edges of the final capture will be exactly. It works pretty well for macro work, but does nothing for keeping the extraneous light out of the vf for me anyway. I would love to have the magnification that this provides WITH a wide flanged rubber cup, but that ain't gonna happen I suppose.

I got all excited when I saw the HoodEYE they list. Until I saw they only fit canons and nikons. Boo hooo! I have placed an order for a eye cup from ebay. It was cheap and free shipping, we'll see how it works out when I get it. Thank you for the idea to look at the Hoodman sight. They offer some interesting gadgets too.

That's annoying, I hadn't noticed that.   Cry I saw their advert in a local camera magazine...  Hopefully they rectify lack of pentax (or olympus or sony) options in the future.  Tongue

That is just the adapter to fit the right angle viewer-hoodman on. The right angle viewer could be handy, but I don't really need one. I'm just looking for a good eye cup.
