How to put photos into in-line / content of a thread?

1. After you have finished uploading the photos as shown above, you will now see a list of images that you have uploaded.

2. Move your mouse over to the image, right click and copy the link (URL) of the thumbnail or the full image.

3. Click Modify to edit the thread/post you have just posted.

4. In content box, click the button and you paste the image link (URL) you have copied in Step 3 in any place of the content that you want. You will see codes similar to below:

Code:
[img]http://pentaxworld.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1210.0;attach=2614;image[/img]

6. Click Post to save the changes of your new thread.

7. Repeat Step 2~6 for more than one image that you want to put into the content of a thread.

Done.

Kho,

I did upload some new photos yesterday and I think I'm making things too complicated. One photo I uploaded 3 times, once for the new contest (can't do any harm to try again), once for the Nature&Wildlife section and a third time for my personal gallery. Surely there should be a way to upload only once and link the rest, shouldn't it? It would be easier on your server space as well. So how do I go about that, where do I upload to first?

Cheers,

Why must it be so hard to post and join in on the forums.

Hi Prieni,

Yes, you can just upload ONCE and link the photo to the rest of the forums.

Eg.
1. In the first new thread, you use the attachment feature to upload the photo once from your computer to the server.

2. On other boards, you link the photo in step 1. to it. You copy the location of the photo that you have uploaded in Step 1, and link it.

Code:
[img]http://pentaxworld.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1210.0;attach=2620;image[/img]

Take note that the URL is not ending with a .jpg or .gif, but it is ok, the photo will still show up. Smiley

Olivergb,

Try to follow the steps in my first post, it is very easy and once you learn on how to do it, you will sure agree with me. It is same as how to make an attachment in your email by sending to people. Smiley

Dear KhoKing,
I had posted some photos via Attach column and Browse button. But, then one friend asked me to post full images through imageshack and I did so. Now I want to go back, instead of uploading once more,
can I reach the links of all images I uploaded (via Attach column and Browse button) so far?

Hi Adnan EROL,

No, there is no option to search for the attachment that you have uploaded, but if you still remember where you uploaded your attachment, then you can still use it again.

We have many attachments in our database, so it would be difficult to actually search for a particular attachment. My suggestion would be you to upload again the photos that you want to share. Smiley

Or, you can upload your photos to our Gallery in your personal album, then link the image to the forum. That way, you can have all photos store nicely in your personal album in the Gallery, and still use it in our forum. No pop up ads, fast loading and easier for members to see. Wink

When I click edit message button, I was expecting to see previously uploaded file name and attachment button with no check mark and when I tick again it would be there >D

It's a good idea to upload into personal album in the Gallery.

Imagine if a member has uploaded over a hundred attachment, then everytime he/she edit a thread, a hundred attachment list will make editing a nightmare... Tongue

For a post that you have uploaded an attachment before, if you click edit, then you will see the attachment/s there. Once unchecked and saved, then it is gone. If you still have it checked, then it will remain there and you can add more attachment to that particular post. Wink

No, no, no I don't want to see all attachments up to now... I mean It would be so nice,  if it were possible to see unchecked attachments that attached previously at each message (or reply) only. Cheesy

If it's not possible, I don't mind... personal album in the Gallery is a good idea.

Hi Kho,

I have tried using this procedure when uploading photos, however, I don't get the 'Copy Link Location' choice in the drop down menu when I right click the photo. Are my images too large?

I have some images in 'More From Under The Big Sky' thread.

TUVM,

Dear Steve,

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I am using FireFox browser.

If you are using IE or other browser, right click and go to Properties. Then manually select the URL of the image and copy the URL manually.

Thanks Kho. Sometimes I just suffer from brain fade, also called 'oldtimers' disease.
