Now I start to get confused.
When is this closed for entries?

Whatever.......
I start believing that it should have said 23rd instead of 22rd on page one.

The contest entry is locked. The voting page should be completed late tonight and available for voting tomorrow onward.

This months contest theme has generated a lot of interest and should be a challenge for voters. Thanks to everyone that entered the contest and provided such wonderful content.  We hope to see a large turn out during the voting process to honour all the hard work and wonderful images.

Have a wonderful evening,

A great shot and deserving winner. I cannot find the voting thread anymore (as usual; these contest threads are a mess!) so don't know if I voted for it. Looking at it I would say I did.
Well done Peter!

I added a link on the bottom of the winner announcment (under the link for the oringinal entries) to the voting page. Member should be able to see how they voted when viewing this page. The number pertaining to the entry will be darkened in comparision to the rest.

To help eveyone understand the organizational structure of the contests it is as follows:

1) When a contest is announced / started, it is located in the Showcase section in the Monthly Photo Contest Board. The board is set up to automatically splash the front page. Located on the front page we also offer a Center Block for the Month's activity. This block provides updates an the contest and a link to the contest or voting page as required. Members can also click on the frame of the contest block that is splashed on the front page. This will take you to the desired page (it is like a link button).
Information is also refelected on the Forum page under the News banner. Often we will also included a link in this News Banner to direct members to the desired page. Please note that all boards are easily and efficently accessed via the Forum page. This is pobably the bast way to route around when you are looking for something becuase it shows each and every board. It is the cake, where the front page is more like icing or a highlight reel.

2) When a contest has concluded it is moved into the "Previous Contest" daughter board and stored in the year it relates to. This allows us to keep an archive of  the contests, allows members a chance to view the past contests, etc.
The voting page is located on the Voting Board. It remains there for several days after the contest has concluded. Then it is moved and will be merged with the all other pieces of the contest in the Previous Contest daughter board.

When we restarted the contest process just over a year ago there was no organized structure and everything was basically heaped in one board. We felt that we wanted to collect and maintain a history of the sites activities in this regard. The images submitted by members for the contests do justify the effort and are well worth a second look. A structure has slowly been hammered out, and the various contests are being tidied up / merged together as time permits. Hopefully by the end of this month we should have everything tidied and sorted out right back to the start (2007). With anything in life there is only so much time. We spend 80% of our resources keeping our heads above water and trying to move forward, 10% spinning one wheel, 5% wishing we had more time, and 5% chipping away at the back log. We do appreciate your patience and support and are honoured to serve in this capacity.

Thanks for clearing that up. The Voting board had slipped through the net (not for the first time). For me voting is an integral part of the contest and therefore I always look for it in the Monthly Photo Contest section.

Then I look in the previous contests, 2009, and then I see some voting threads there and cannot find the actual one (as this is still in the voting section of the board). I think that is what puzzles me.

The links in the announcements are immensely helpful!

And I do appreciate all the time and effort you all are putting into this board. And a big THANK YOU for that.

Now I found out that I didn't vote for the winner after all (sorry Peter) but did vote for the runner up. Still think the win is well deserved, though.

Cheers,

Thanks again to all the members whether vote for me or not. The most important part of this contest is to share and to advance together. Happy shootings all.
Best regards.
